Granddaughter : GrandPa, I seem to remember a statistic that said 96 % of all opium production came from Afghanistan while occupied by predominantly U.S. servicemen and women. With all that force protection, (eyes in the sky watching poppies cry,) how does the heroin leave the country?
GrandPa : The CIA.
Granddaughter : The CIA? Surely you jest. Why would the CIA be involved with drug smuggling?
GrandPa : Former President George H. W. Bush,* Gomer’s** daddy, with the help of Secord and Ollie, learned that cocaine was an excellent way to fund activities that Congress said ‘no’ to. With use of the CIA’s ‘pitch black mode’ they can funnel millions into stealth options that create havoc for the ‘us and them’ paradigm, completely free of all congressional oversight, if so chosen. Because the cocaine part is true,* it defies my ability to believe the above conjecture is not.
On a side note, in the same vein, the president wants to pass an economic stimulus package to the tune of 150 billion dollars, while providing no way to pay for it other than deficit financing. I have a suggestion that can do the same thing and not cost anyone a dime.
Legalize marijuana. Even without taxation it will go along way toward solving America’s gluttonous need, courtesy of religious moralism, to be control freaks of civil liberties.
I am not an advocate of heroin use for anything other than medical, but the point I am trying to make is that if christians are ‘free’ to get their daily fix of scriptural ignorance, why shouldn’t the rest of us be able to choose what helps us make it ‘through the night?’ John said it was ‘alright’ and he was one of the saner influences in my life! If I didn’t know better, I’d think someone was trying to establish a religion. Not with democracy. Does ‘America’ need a helping hand defining the difference between democracy and theocracy? If God prefers democracy, where will the helping hand come from? Christian zionists trapped in the illiteracy of the old and new testament? Not likely.
